The HESPERUS Cultural Foundation has been set up in 1991.
Engineer I. C. Florea (one of the Romanian Radio pioneers) was among the founder members as well as the famous Romanian Director Nicolae Corjos, The Romanian Radiotelevision Editors Ioan Ion Diaconu, Maria Urbanovici, Ioan Iacob so on.
Prof. Dr. Ioan Iacob has had the initiative of this cultural foundation and a famous Romanian actor, Adrian Pintea, has offered a recital of Mihai Eminescu at the end of the first The HESPERUS Cultural foundation general assembly (at STUDIO Hall of The ‘C.I.Nottara’ Theatre, on the 29th of May, 1991).
The HESPERUS Cultural Foundation has organized ten editions of
‘THE HESPERUS Days’ (cultural events with international guests, in 1993, 1995, 1999, 2001, 2003, 2005, 2007, 2009, 2011 and 2014).
The Ambassadors of Brazil, India, Portugal (1999), Japan, Brazil and The General Consul of Australia (2001), Finland, Bulgaria, The Republic of Korea (2003), The Czech Republic (2007), special guests from Italy (1993), Switzerland (1995), Spain, The British Council (2003), U.K., Egypt, Italy (2005), Germany, The U.S.A. (2007), Canada (2009), The U.S.A. (2011) have participated at these international cultural events.
The HESPERUS Cultural Foundation is about to launch A TRANSATLANTIC PROJECT dedicated to POETRY (literature, culture), MEDIA and THEATRE. This project is based on’Transatlantic Poetry Arc: Mihai Eminescu – Edgar Allan Poe’ ( the doctoral dissertation of Prof. Dr. Ioan Iacob, writer and journalist, President of The HESPERUS Cultural Foundation), published by JUNIMEA Publishing House and launched at GAUDEAMUS Book Fair in November, 2017.
