To mark the Centenary of Romania’s Great Union (2018-2019) as well as the National Day of Romania (1 December), the Romanian Cultural Institute in New York hosts a special evening, featuring impressive soprano Laura Nicorescu who will take us on a musical journey through the European capitals where the struggle for the unification of the Romanian historical provinces and its eventual fulfillment unfolded.
Join us to celebrate the men and women who made the unification of Romanian historical provinces possible with scores by George Enescu, Tiberiu Brediceanu, Felicia Donceanu, Diamandi Gheciu, George Grigoriu and Mihail Jora, but also Claude Debussy, Franz Lehár, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Johannes Brahms.
Laura Nicorescu will be accompanied on the piano by highly regarded conductor and Music Director of the Salzburger Landestheater, Adrian Kelly.
The event is organized with the kind support of the Permanent Mission of Romania to the United Nations.
